Flawsome lips!

While looking at pictures of myself the other day, it became very apparent as  to what my Flawsome of the month would be: My Lips! I personally think they are silly- looking, especially with lipstick on. But alas', we are our worst critics sometimes, eh? Actually, I've always shied away from lipstick because I believe it makes mine look like the Jokers' lips!! (see Jack Nickelson in BATMAN, circa 1989). How about an overly pointy Cupid's bow and outer corners? Ha! I know,I can be dramatic at times...the drawbacks from having a vivid imagination perhaps;) Well for the past few years red lips have been "in". So one day something came over me, and I decided to check out Sephora in search of a red lipstick that complimented my flaw. My perfect match turned out to be by Tarte LipSurgence matte lip stain in "Fiery". In all honesty though, I bought it not just for the fabulous color, I LOVED  the name;) I was feeling fiery and bold so it was perfect! Yes I still feel like I could be cast as the next Joker or his sister maybe (Christopher Nolan feel free to look me up), but I'm infatuated with this red and learning to love my lips in lipstick. Additionally, I now own a fuchsia LipSurgence, called "Lively". Based on the name, you guys know I obviously had to get it! OVO and spikes

With the winter growing ever crazier, I tend to dress in anticipation of a blizzard. In other words, boring! But, I was thinking, my usual jeans and t-shirt attire doesn't have to be so blah! So, I pulled these amazing Urban Outfitters jeans out to spice things up. I'm sure I'm not the only one who "saves" beautiful clothing for a special occasion. What better than a freezing cold day with not much to do?The spiked out thunderbolt pattern is certainly eye catching. Topped with my favorite long sleeve OVO tee. I'm loving the gold owl with the gold and silver spikes/studs on my jeans. Of course leopard tends to find its way into my ensemble, today it was with my Free People beanie. This outfit made me smile and I'm already planning to repeat it one of these days. Stay warm:)

Freckle feature

My freckle feature for the month of December is my friend forever SHANNON. We've been friends since high school and I just love this lady. She's super creative and mother to the most beautiful twin girls ever! Shannon never really noticed or appreciated her freckles until she got older(like most of us). Now she loves them and likes the fact that she's known for them. For example, "there's the girl with the freckles" or, "yea the one with the freckles" are common phrases when describing her.  A cool thing about her constellation is the longer you look, the more you see. Chocolate boots

I've had these chocolate babies in the back of my closet for some time now. Rarely do I ever wear brown. For some reason I just don't think it's "my" color. Lately though, I've been in a chocolate mood. Maybe it's the cold weather, maybe it's my clients bringing me delicious goodies or, maybe it's my inner Cookie Monster. Whatever it is, I'm drawn to these amazing Tara Subkoff boots that I bought a while back. What makes these butter soft leather boots even better, they're wedges! That fact means COMFORT. I needed to be comfortable on this day since I would be standing in line to meet the wonderful Rebecca Minkoff. One of my favorite designers! I got my bags signed, and I felt pretty stylish in my boots:) I think I'll keep these in the front of my closet from now on.

82 & Shining

1982 was a good year. So when I saw this sweatshirt, I had to have it! The rose gold sparkles against the black are everything! This sweatshirt is also a good excuse to put on all my rose gold jewelry that I tend to forget about. A nice rosey shine never hurt anybody! Instead of pairing it with black jeans(like i normally would) I pulled out these comfy tuxedo pants from Express, my Ash wedges, and threw my trustee leather jacket over my shoulders. With the wind growing ever stronger I put on a beanie, and I have to say, I've never been more comfortable! Comfortable and sparkley? Thats not always easy to pull off!
                                     

Black & white

It's no secret, I love leopard print! For me, this sweater is a two for one special. Leopard print AND black & white, one of my favorite color combinations. I really like that the sleeves are black, a bit toned down from the rest of the sweater. What's even better, I picked this bad boy up on sale at Forever 21. Topped it off with my infinity scarf that I've had for ages, and now this is one of my "go to" looks! Can't wait to wear it again:)
                             

Top hat

The unpredictable weather is a great reason to wear hats. I have many in my closet, but few ever get to see the light of day. I usually pull them out when I'm having a bad hair day, but I'm starting to see the ridiculousness in that. Why not wear them on good hair days? Or any day we feel like it? Today, I decided to wear my lovely leopard print wide brim hat. I think it tops off any outfit perfectly! Of course because animal print is a neutral and matches everything, all while adding spice to your ensemble. So dust off those hats and wear them!
