Freckle Feature

My freckle feature for January is my friend Alisha. She's one of the sweetest people I know. Chatting with her about her lovely freckles, she told me she never really noticed her freckles growing up. She more so noticed other people with an abundance of freckles on their faces. One day, she was looking in the mirror and noticed hers! As typical with us freckle faced girls, she wasn't happy with her freckles. Her main reason for being unhappy about them? Because they were more pronounced than anyone in her family and circle of friends. Alisha also shared that as she grew older she learned to embrace her freckles because they are a part of her. They make her special and she feels blessed to have them. She's comfortable in her own skin and the bonus is others love them too! I think they're adorable and flawsome just like her;)

Blazin' Winter White

It's still snowing and it's still cold. So this weekend I decided to wear something I've been saving for no special reason, what better than a freezing cold day? Jeans as white as the snow outside my window and a silver sequins blazer. Fun right? :) I must admit, I've always avoided white, especially in the winter. Not only because its after Labor Day, but because i'm a bit of a slob. Try as I might, I never seem to get all my food in my mouth(my clothes tend to get hungry too).  I pulled out my BCBGeneration white faux leather jeans, a soft white button down and a fun sparkly blazer. I really like that these jeans are two different fabrics. The top is a very light toned jean and the bottom faux leather(this fact makes them easy to wear). This blazer is THE best! Its wool with amazing sequins, which is the best of both worlds(business and party). Who says you cant dress up going for pizza? I say "go for it"! Umm yes, I did wear a few napkins;) This look by far is one of my favorites and I can't wait to wear it again!

Flawsome lips!

While looking at pictures of myself the other day, it became very apparent as  to what my Flawsome of the month would be: My Lips! I personally think they are silly- looking, especially with lipstick on. But alas', we are our worst critics sometimes, eh? Actually, I've always shied away from lipstick because I believe it makes mine look like the Jokers' lips!! (see Jack Nickelson in BATMAN, circa 1989). How about an overly pointy Cupid's bow and outer corners? Ha! I know,I can be dramatic at times...the drawbacks from having a vivid imagination perhaps;) Well for the past few years red lips have been "in". So one day something came over me, and I decided to check out Sephora in search of a red lipstick that complimented my flaw. My perfect match turned out to be by Tarte LipSurgence matte lip stain in "Fiery". In all honesty though, I bought it not just for the fabulous color, I LOVED  the name;) I was feeling fiery and bold so it was perfect! Yes I still feel like I could be cast as the next Joker or his sister maybe (Christopher Nolan feel free to look me up), but I'm infatuated with this red and learning to love my lips in lipstick. Additionally, I now own a fuchsia LipSurgence, called "Lively". Based on the name, you guys know I obviously had to get it! These lips are saying Flawsome right now:) http://www.sephora.com/lipsurgence-matte-lip-tint-P266116?skuId=1261155

OVO and spikes

With the winter growing ever crazier, I tend to dress in anticipation of a blizzard. In other words, boring! But, I was thinking, my usual jeans and t-shirt attire doesn't have to be so blah! So, I pulled these amazing Urban Outfitters jeans out to spice things up. I'm sure I'm not the only one who "saves" beautiful clothing for a special occasion. What better than a freezing cold day with not much to do?The spiked out thunderbolt pattern is certainly eye catching. Topped with my favorite long sleeve OVO tee. I'm loving the gold owl with the gold and silver spikes/studs on my jeans. Of course leopard tends to find its way into my ensemble, today it was with my Free People beanie. This outfit made me smile and I'm already planning to repeat it one of these days. Stay warm:)
