Freckle feature!

My lovely sister Leah is my freckle feature for the month of October. Growing up, I've always looked up to my sister. She's pretty, smart, and hilarious! I've never pegged myself as any of those things, so the fact that we have freckles in common makes me feel special and more connected to her. Like most of us with freckles, she didn't like them as a little girl. More so, because people of "color" didn't have them. We grew up in NY state, but, our small city is pretty segregated. So, she was "different" for yet another reason. Fortunately, things are better now and she fully appreciates her amazing freckled face! As does others. Although, we both have shared angry stories of makeup artists trying to cover them up!(again, something we share) I applaud my sister for being strong and wearing her freckles beautifully. Shining a light on these flawsome 'constellations' is so important to me, and I'm so happy to use my sister for the cause. Yayy!

Flawsome of the month!

This month I'm choosing to shed light on these arms of mine. They are strong, veiny, skinny, and a little too long for my frame(at least that's what I think). Sometimes I cant help but think I look like the Incredible Hulk with these things!(minus the green color) In other words, completely disproportionate to the rest of my body. Now some of you might be thinking "what is she talking about?"etc, but I admit, body dysmorphia visits me sometimes. Thats why I'm working on thinking of them as flawsome. Most girls I know work so hard at toning their arms, and wear big sleeves to cover them. So, I've decided to be thankful for what I have. Happy that it comes naturally, even my sisters have long strong arms(this fact has always made coat & long sleeve shopping tricky for us). To me, that makes us all flawsome! So, until we can find the perfect length sleeve: strapless, tank, cap sleeve here I come;)

All Eyes on Kesh

As you probably know already, I LOVE Kesh! The clean and simple design is so on trend, and the black and white makes it a sure classic. You can't help but feel special when you wear one of her pieces. Like you should be walking along Champs-Élysées Avenue in Paris or flamenco dancing in Seville at the Auditorio Alvarez Quintero. Believe me!( I've been to these places). If I had these with me, I would've done a twirly 'la tee da' dance and got up and flamenco'd their socks off! I feel like I can do anything in these leggings! Seriously! Everyone from grandmas to little kids compliment me when I wear Kesh, it's the coolest feeling. This day I wore mine with a simple tee, booties, and topped it off with some fun accessories. A cupcake necklace, Marc Jacobs sunnies, and my favorite La Mer wrap watch I got from Karmaloop.com(I love this site, they always have the latest and greatest). I'm thinking me and my leggings need to pack a bag...Europe anyone?;)

Slits and giggles:)

Fall has begun, officially marking this time "sweater weather". With mornings being typically cool and grey, what better than my Vintage Havana sweater with smiley faces all over it to cheer us up?For the warmer afternoons, though, there's slits in the back to allow the breeze (and maybe leaves) to flow through. Side note: no leaves have actually blown through yet, but i think it'll be fun when they do:) Can't wait! I coordinated it with a pair of studded black jeans and some 'good old' motorcycle boots. Oh, and if you look close enough, the smiley faces are made up of tiny little black and yellow hearts. Cute, Eh? Just a little fun fact to make your smile even bigger. I found this fun sweater at Lord and Taylor, so, run! don't walk and grab yourself one. Ciao for now my friends.
